Frozen Shoulder

"I started at Jade Spring Wellness in June of 2018 for Adhesive Capsulitis and Bursitis I had seen a sports medicine MD, who gave me a toradol injection, PT, neither worked. The PT made it worse.
I started with 3 x week sessions. Over time, I decreased to 1 x week and less. I gradually felt better, and by December, it was amazing how much it improved! My range of motion is almost normal. The pain is gone, with twinges when I am doing yoga, (Downward Dog!) I am so pleased.

Hip, Neck and testicular Pains

"I am a male in my late 50�s with multiple issues of both hips, testicular and neck pain. I had never had a massage or acupuncture until my doctor recommend I get deep tissue massage and acupuncture. My doctor recommended Jade Springs to me.
After five years seeing multiple Doctors, Physical therapists and a chiropractor along with having multiple tests of both hips and neck my doctors was able to reduce my pain but never figured out what caused my hips and neck to hurt. I still had about 10% - 20% of the pain I started with and longer being reduced further.
After going to Jade Springs for both Massage and acupuncture I started to feel better with less pain. My massage therapist (Elie) told me I was so tight it was like trying to work steel cables. Now my neck pain is almost gone and my hip pain has been reduced further.
The massage therapist at Jade Springs that works on me makes me feel comfortable to talk to about all my issues and she makes me relaxed prior and during the massage. Her deep tissue massage makes me fill allot better after she is done. She is able to find sore spots that I did not realize were causing me issues, but as she works them I know that they have been giving me issues for some time. She has suggested stretching exercises that would help me loosen up my tight muscles which they have done. After a few massage appointments I am really starting to see improvement of my mussels relaxing. My massage therapist also went further and researched my issues and found a possible reason that could be causing my pains that the DRs never identified. So I followed up on what she found and so I found a specialized physical therapist that works the pelvic floor and another that works the other muscles for my particular issues. It looks like my pelvis floor muscles are all messed up. Some are real tight and others are really weak and I have multiple trigger points. My massage therapist did not need to do this research but I really appreciate her taking the time for doing it. Now the new specialist PT appears to be getting to the root cause of some of my issues. While the specialist does her work my massage therapist and acupuncturist (Jewell ) work on some of the issues that my specialist needs done allowing my specialist more time to work the issues she needs to. My acupuncturist works with my massage therapist closely and discusses the best approach to help relieve my pain. The acupuncturist is also targeting my testicular pain which gives me addition relief. My acupuncturist like the massage therapist discusses your issues so they can provide you with the most pain relief while making you relax.
All the massage therapist and acupuncturist at Jade springs have been very friendly had helpful.
The Physical Therapist (Pelvic Floor Specialist) that works my pelvic floor issues has confirmed the massage therapist made a good call.
Now after 5 years I am finally starting to have alot less pain and slowly reducing my pain meds.

"I am a female in my late 50�s with multiple issues of back, neck and foot pain along with Headaches and allergies. My husband was going to Jade Springs so I decided to try them.
I have tried Physical therapists and a chiropractor before with little help. The Chiropractor was a male which made me uncomfortable. The Physical Therapist I had only had me do exercises that made me fill worse.

Sometimes I cannot get the same acupuncturist due to my and their schedules so I have seen 3 or 4 of the acupuncturist. I find they are all good.

"In August of �08 I entered a very stressful time resulting in 7 months of insomnia, a high level of anxiety, leading to depression. I had become distraught enough that I sought prescriptions for and began taking meds for both the insomnia and depression in early Jan '09.
was referred to Jade Spring Wellness and Mia by a very close friend of mine. I began receiving acupuncture and taking Chinese herbs in early March and within 30 days I began reducing the sleep meds and anti-depressants. I have since stopped taking the sleeping pills, sleeping 7-8 hours/night, and I have cut my anti-depressant in half. The degree to which my well being has returned is remarkable.

"When my third son was born, I had one mastitis after another as I try to breastfeed the baby. After several rounds of antibiotics, I had some allergic reactions and the infections kept coming. The doctor said I needed to stop breastfeeding right away and switch to bottle-feeding, but the baby was allergic to cow�s milk as well as soy milk! I was desperate to find a solution and I really wanted to keep breastfeeding my son. This is when I walked for the first time into Mia�s office. I had no appointment but she was right there, so I asked her whether I could ask her a quick question. She gracefully accepted and I explained briefly my situation and asked her whether she thought she could do something to help me. The confidence with which she answered struck me. �Yes, we will have the situation under control within a day or two.� I started acupuncture and herbs, and sure enough, the red streaks on the breast, the pain and the fever all went away within and I was able to breastfeed my baby for 17 more months! The infections came back now and then, but each time, we treated them with the herbs and some acupuncture sessions. There were no side effects, and my energy improved. I was so impressed, that a few months later, when my first born started having some serious heartburns and the western medicine treatments failed to solve the problem, I asked Mia whether she could also do something about it. After a month of treatment, my son was cured. Then my middle son also had a problem: he had never had a dry night in his life, and he was 6 years old! We had tried to wake him up at night to go to the bathroom, and we used a device that would ring to wake him up, but nothing worked. He started treatment with Mia and again, a month later, the problem was solved for good! The most recent problem was possibly the most impressive of all: my third son developed some strange symptoms that looked very much like Tourette syndrome. He had very strange eye movements and over time the ticks moved to the shoulders, then to the trunk in the stomach area. The ticks were relentless and he had no control over them. These symptoms bothered him considerably, especially at school, where he was trying to hide them out of embarrassment. I felt very helpless, the doctor said we had to wait a year to confirm Tourette, but I wanted to get my son some help before that. I thought that Mia might be able to do something about the situation and sure enough, we started treatment. Now, a few months later, my son is more or less symptom free. The ticks are under control and we have started spacing the treatments out.
As you can see, in the past 10 years, my whole family has seen Mia for various health problems (I have other stories to tell!) that were not easy to solve with western medicine. "Mia Song has repeatedly performed miracles with her acupuncture and herbal treatments when I have gone to her in pain and have been temporarily disabled. Ten years ago, I decided to try acupuncture (as a last resort) after a knee specialist had told me I would have to live with a significantly swollen and painful knee until I had surgery. "I had to write you because it was exactly a year ago when I made my first appointment with Jade Spring. I think back to when I first came in there, I was full of anxiety, 40 lbs heavier than today, couldn't sleep, un-engaging with others and hormone deficient. I had just left my Medical Doctor's office with about 4 psychotic and anti-anxiety medications but knew that this wasn't the right answer. Lucky, a friend recommended you to me.
That's when things began to change. When I came in for the first time I was in a vicious cycle of: lot's of anxiety = couldn't sleep = tired all the time = un-engaging with others = low self awareness = excessive eating and abused my body = overweight = poor blood panels + hormone deficient = lot's of anxiety and the cycle repeated itself. Hyperthyroidism

"Shingles...who, at 43, would ever think the doctor's going to say you have shingles...and to make it worse, on my face! Shingles is the dormant chicken pox virus that normally affects people over 60 and on their torsos! A compromised immune system and stress are common triggers. The stories people tell of the pain are not exaggerated...it's one of the worst things I've ever endured.
Fortunately I caught it within 48 hours of the first blister, so I could take the anti-viral medication from the doctor. That and hydrocodone were all that Western medicine offered...not much relief for my burning, blistering face. Thank goodness for Jade Spring Wellness and the talented practitioners who took such good care of me.
Within 48 hours of my diagnosis, Mia and her team had me on a comprehensive treatment plan of acupuncture and Chinese herbs. The pain was so intense, I just turned my treatment over to them, getting acupuncture 3-4 times a week those first three weeks and taking the herbs three times a day. The compassion I received was amazing. Everyone in the office knew my story and encouraged me to hang in there. We chronicled the healing progress of the blisters while finding something to be grateful for, as it could have been so much worse without their help.
After the first two weeks I was cleared to go back to work and I was getting closer to sleeping through the night. I thought it was time to wrap up treatment and be done with it! What I learned is that shingles takes a very long time to heal and if you don't continue to treat for it, it can flare back up with little provocation. Even though the blisters may be gone, the nerves are still damaged. Mia took the time to educate me on what my body was dealing with and patiently worked with me when I had no patience left. Finally, after two months of regular acupuncture appointments and Chinese herbs, you couldn't really tell I had had shingles. I still go every two weeks for a treatment to keep the nerves healthy and will take my herbs until there's no residual sensations--after this there's little I wouldn't do to avoid another outbreak.

Acute Vision Loss from Stroke in the Eye

"I was diagnosed with ION (Ischemic Optic Neuropathy) commonly called Optic Stroke. There is no proven treatment, and vision loss is usually permanent. The first 10 days I had no vision, it was complete darkness and 2 doctors confirmed the diagnosis. They told me that my vision would not be restored and that I would be left with vision in just one eye. I was devastated when they told me that I would loose vision in my left eye with no options for treatment. Vision in the left eye was totally black (no vision) except for a very small circle in one part of the eye. My family has been receiving acupuncture from Mia Song over the years and have had wonderful results. I was not sure if acupuncture could help restore my vision but Mia said that if the nerve was not completely damaged there is a chance for the optic nerve to heal and restore my vision. My first treatment was 10 days after the stroke in the eye. After the first treatment, within 1 hour of treatment, 50% of the �black� receded, and light was coming in my eye and I was seeing a grey/spiderweb covering. Within 3 days I had three treatments and at the end of the third day all black and darkness in my eye was gone, and I was only seeing foggy grey/spiderweb covering. I continued weekly treatments for one year along with Chinese herbs and my vision was restored 99%! I just had a check up with my ophthalmologist and was told that my vision is same as before the stroke and that I did not need new prescription glasses. Low Back Pain and Fractured Hip

"I am a landscaper and hurt my back while working. I was having so much pain that I could not go to work for a month. My doctor told me that I had a bulging disc and fracture in my pelvis and told me I needed surgery. After hearing that there was no guarantee with the surgery and that sometimes the pain can be a lot worse I opted to try more natural therapy.
